December Issue

Is that cockroach shuffling too loudly or is it just me? It’s taken a lot of aspirin, but we’re starting to recover from the FractalMatter.com outing to the Dublin Comic Con 2006. In the name of research, a gathering of Fractal’s staff descended upon one of the friendliest cities in the world in order to witness Ireland’s first comic convention for, well, years. Much research was done, much fun was had and the results are here for all to see.

Needless to say, the black stuff may have had an effect on getting this month’s staggering collection of material ready for you all. What we did manage to collate includes advanced reviews including the latest Transformers Spotlight book, the new Warren Ellis book from Marvel New Universal #1 and a world exclusive advance review of Hellboy Animated: The Black Wedding - not due out until January 31st! Of course we have the usual collection of comic, music and film reviews including Casino Royale, The Immortal Iron Fist #1 and The Nightly News #1 amongst others.

Traditionally, Christmas is the time of year that everything slows down but not here at Fractal Towers. We have a veritable Christmas banquet of great interviews with IDW Editor in Chief - Chris Ryall, superstar artist Whilce Portacio and Angel comic writer Scott Tipton. Paul Cornell gives us an exclusive page by page commentary of Wisdom #1 and we get into the festive season by having a look at our staffs favourite Christmas films. Although anyone expecting the standard festive fare should prepare for a disappointment, as this list takes in everything from singing lobsters to tiny bundles of pure evil. And strangely, we don’t mean children.

So, if you’re bored with yet another Bond movie on TV, can’t face the Queen’s speech or just want something to read which isn’t a TV listing, check this issue out. Just please…don’t click the mouse too loudly…
